Pascale Favre's work is an exercise of the memory in the context of different environments. For In a furnished flat in Cairo she produces drawings from her private space in Switzerland based on her memories there in the context of this new space that she now inhabits. The drawings reflect the interaction between her private sphere and a more public one that comes with sharing a space with a group. She explores the possibilities of private spaces being both open and closed, not limited by geographical boundaries per se.

Pascale Favre (1970) lives and works in Geneva. She is a teaching assistant in the Ecole Superieure Des Beaux Arts. This year, she is taking part in the Artists in Residence programme sponsored by Pro Helvetia in Shabramant, Guiza. Her latest exhibitions include a group exhibition in Galerie E. Mitterand, Geneva and In Diesen Zeiten, c'est le moment, Pasquart, Biel (2003).
